These plugs are made of silicone, so they fit perfectly and do not fall out. They are soft and do not interfere while playing; you cannot feel them compared to plastic ones.
They are mainly used by younger artists while learning the correct hand position to cover the flute holes. But their main function is to protect the flute pads and mechanism from hand sweat, dust, moisture, and dirt, especially if the flute is left unplayed for a long time.
