Helps establish a correct hand position and balance so that tension does not build up in the wrist. By establishing a correct hand position, it can help with intonation and the overall flute tone, ensuring that the flute is positioned parallel to the floor and is not angled too far inward or outward, which would impair sound quality. They are rubber-coated, do not scratch the instrument, and are non-slip.
They come in two types and various colors. The classic Thumbport covers almost the entire base and is more stable, while the Thumbport II is slightly shorter and suitable for absolutely all concert flutes.
